UPPSC General Studies Syllabus 2025: Prelims & Mains
UPPSC Prelims has 2 GS papers (200 marks each, 33% qualifying in Paper II), while Mains 2025 restructured to 8 compulsory papers totaling 1,500 marks with no optional subjects—GS Papers V & VI are exclusively Uttar Pradesh-specific covering state governance, freedom struggle, and culture. The syllabus is 80-85% aligned with UPSC but emphasizes UP-centric topics that generate 8-10 questions annually in Prelims.
UPPSC Optional Subject Syllabus: New 8-Paper Pattern
Optional subjects have been completely abolished from UPPSC Mains since 2023 and replaced with two UP-specific General Studies papers (GS Paper V on UP History & Governance, GS Paper VI on UP Economy & Environment), making all 8 Mains papers compulsory for every candidate.
UPPSC Exam Pattern: Prelims, Mains & Interview Marks
UPPSC uses a three-stage selection process: Prelims (200-mark GS I + 200-mark CSAT qualifying), Mains (1500 marks across 8 papers), and Interview (100 marks), totaling 1600 marks for final merit—but Prelims marks do NOT count toward your final score.
UPPSC BEO Syllabus 2025: Prelims, Mains & Interview
UPPSC BEO (Block Education Officer) recruitment follows a three-stage selection process: Prelims (120 MCQs, 300 marks, negative marking 1/3 per wrong answer), Mains (400 marks across General Studies, Hindi, and Essay in descriptive format), and Interview (50–200 marks). Prelims covers General Science, History, Polity, Economy, and Geography; Mains expands into detailed GS with Hindi language and essay writing components.
